Currently not available in Canada, Gemini has plans to launch here in the near future and we’ll keep you updated.

Launched in 2025, Gemini now has a crypto credit card that you can earn crypto rewards on every purchase, all with no annual fee. Earn 4% back on gas and transit purchases, 3% on dining purchases, 2% on groceries, and 1% on all else. Rewards are paid in Bitcoin, Solana, and XRP with more options coming in the future.

When their program becomes available to Canadians, we’ll add it to our Bitcoin Credit Card comparison page.

Gemini Credit Card Summary

The Gemini Credit Card is a credit card offered by the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, in partnership with WebBank and using the Mastercard network. Instead of earning traditional cashback or points, the card provides rewards in cryptocurrency. Each time you make a purchase, you earn a percentage back in the form of crypto, which is automatically deposited into your Gemini account. This allows users to build a crypto portfolio passively through everyday spending.

Features and Rewards Structure

The card offers tiered rewards in cryptocurrency based on spending categories. Users can earn around 4 percent back on categories such as gas, electric vehicle charging, transit, taxis, and rideshare (typically up to a monthly spending cap). Dining earns 3 percent back, groceries earn 2 percent back, and all other purchases earn 1 percent back. Rewards are deposited directly into the user’s Gemini account shortly after transactions post, rather than on a delayed monthly cycle.

The Gemini Credit Card has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees. When rewards are delivered as crypto, there are no exchange fees applied to the deposit. Cardholders can begin using the digital version of the card immediately once approved, and a physical metal card is sent separately. For added security, the physical card does not display the card number, expiration date, or security code; these remain accessible within the Gemini app.

Because the card operates on the Mastercard network, cardholders also receive standard Mastercard benefits such as identity protection services, zero liability for unauthorized charges, and other purchase protections.

Benefits and Best Uses

The Gemini Credit Card is well suited for individuals who want to accumulate cryptocurrency through normal daily spending without having to manually make crypto purchases. It is also a good option for people who prefer no annual fee and want flexibility in choosing among multiple cryptocurrencies for rewards.

Considerations and Drawbacks

Because rewards are issued in cryptocurrency, their value can fluctuate due to market volatility, which may be a downside for risk-averse users. The highest reward tiers generally have monthly spending caps, and after these limits are reached, rewards drop to the base rate. Rewards cannot be applied directly to the credit card balance; users would need to convert crypto to cash if they prefer to use rewards to pay off the card. Additionally, the card requires a Gemini account, so users who do not already use the platform may find the setup less convenient.
